I was very surprised to see a good Mediterranean dining establishment in Hat Yai, The Basil Restaurant. It’s rated the 2nd most popular restaurant on Trip Advisor. Take a look at this splendid savoury crepe dish – a special creation of Chef Anusorne – stuffing the French style crepe with crab meat and served wit h a rich creamy sauce.

Also at the street markets, keep an eye out for the Mango and Durian sticky rice combo. For those who love both durian and mangoes!

Delicious seafood Tom Yum Hat Yai style. Nice and spicy. if you can’t take the heat you can go for a milder version. Kan Eng Restaurant comes highly recommended and suitable for big groups!

Good markets to visit are Green Way Market and Asia Market. They have great food sections as well as shopping sections. These snacks are great. Make your choices and they will grill it for you. Ohhhh yess!

Kan Eng Restaurant is my go to place for great Thai food at cheap prices! Thai style prawn cakes! Usually you will see fish cakes – but prawn cakes are so much better! Yumness! Hurray for prawn cakes packed with Thai style spices!
