Ms Lai Pei-Si’s career with Standard Chartered Bank has seen her become involved in various major areas of banking such as Branch & Priority Banking management, Wealth Product Development and Channel Strategy roles in Singapore. In 2011, she was appointed Standard Chartered Bank Brunei’s Chief Executive Officer.
Over the course of her successful career, Pei-Si has played a key role in the development of many innovative, industry-first service and marketing initiatives including the 8-minute service pledge, which has been introduced globally across the Standard Chartered Bank network.
Under her leadership, Standard Chartered Bank has grown to become one of the most prominent international banks in Brunei today. She is also actively involved in local industry and community organisations. She was Chairperson of the Britain Brunei Business Forum and a member of the Brunei Association of Banks.
Pei-Si has also been responsible for enhancing the Bank’s contribution to Brunei’s sustainable economic development through the introduction of tailored banking services, targeted community investment initiatives and SME financial education programmes.
