Nursing is a vocation that requires knowledge but more importantly, a sincere desire to care for and understand the patient’s needs. No one knows this better than Hajjah Norlila Buang the Director of Nursing & Allied Healthcare Professionals of Gleneagles JPMC, Brunei. Hajjah Norlila has been in the nursing profession for the past thirty–one years. Her previous experience includes working in both government and private hospitals in Malaysia. Having previously held the positions of Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager, parttime lecturer, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing- she particularly enjoys a challenge and believes in mentoring to develop the leadership skills for the benefit of nursing as a profession. In Brunei, one of the major causes of death is coronary heart diseases and Hajjah Norlila believes that people need to know that they must take action to decrease the risk factors. She also strongly supports the CSR activities at Gleneagles which promote heath talks and screening to improve public awareness on health issues.
