Brunei’s Polar Girl
The spirit of adventure and commitment to environmental issues saw Dk Najibah Eradah Pengiran Ahmad Mahdi Al-Sufri, better known as Brunei’s Polar Girl selected from among 800 candidates to take part in the Kaspersky Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition. As part of this team, Dk Najibah was the first Bruneian woman to reach the South Pole on December 29, 2009.
She holds a BSc (Hons) Computing With Business Management, UK , a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Secondary Mathematics) UBD, and Masters in Public Administration, Ithaca, New York. Dk Najibah “is passionate about environmental issues and hopes to use her involvement in the expedition to raise awareness in Brunei about Global Warming and Climate Change.”
