Women’s Business Council Brunei Darussalam (WBC)
As the President of WBC in Brunei Darussalam, Datin Paduka Hajah Rokiah assists SMEs: and encourages the youths to join the WBC so that they can develop their entrepreneurship skills through training programmes provided by the Council. She is also the Associate Vice President of the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2010.
We take this opportunity to pay special tribute to Datin Paduka Hjh Rokiah’s dedication to the Nursing services and nursing education in Brunei Darussalam for over 40 years. She began her nursing career at West Middlesex Hospital, London, U.K. and on returning to Brunei Darussalam, she spent 16 years at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital where she started as a Nursing Officer and in 1984 was made the Commissioning Nurse for the new RIPAS Hospital.
Datin Paduka Hjh Rokiah was also the Principal of the College of Nursing Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah where she was predominantly responsible for the development and nurturing academic leadership to nursing students. In 2000 after completing 29 years of civil service with the Brunei government, she ventured into business as the Executive Director of the Rokiah Nursing Consultants and Services supporting the Ministry of Health in conducting 1st Aid and CPR training for private sectors.
