An indefatigable work ethic and invaluable contributions made to both the Ministry of Primary Resources and Ministry of Defence have led to Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah being bestowed with several honours and awards – the most recent being in 2013 when she was awarded ‘Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Second Class (DPMB)’.
Datin Hjh Suriya’s plays a key role in the Ministry’s defence budget and spending and places great emphasis on Civilian Human Resource Development. Her recent milestones include the successful organisation of Bridex 2013 and the delivering of major acquisition programs such as the ‘Support Helicopters Project’.
After attaining her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Surrey, England Datin Hajah Suriyah joined the government service as an Auditor in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Throughout her career she’s held many key positions within government sectors. Whilst at the MIPR her main responsibilities included looking after Finance, Administration, Food Security, HoB, Brunei Halal Brand and also the On-line Business Licensing System project. Datin Hajah Suriyah also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis from the National University of Singapore.
